Jury Comment: "As the current generation would say, 'Sweet.' Restraint shines here. How often we say in our office that good design should not be overdone. The storefront detailing is well proportioned and appears incredibly simple. The design quality of the interior space balances the effort on the facade. One of the jurors noted he would literally drive by the existing building and possibly speed up. The renovation would compel him to stop, walk, look in the window and eat. If every little project every architect did had this much care put into it, we would all live in great cities."
